OUR IMPACT TO DATE

There is currently one audiologist in Guatemala for a population of 17 million people. The country is one of the fastest-growing countries in Latin America, with 1,000 babies born each day. It is estimated that three of these 1,000 will be born with hearing loss. World Wide Hearing (WWH) has had a strong partnership with Sonrisas que Escuchan since 2015. This local not-for-profit promotes better living conditions for individuals with hearing loss by using top-of-the-line technologies. We jointly offer hearing care services to the poorest people in Guatemala, particularly women and children, by targeting rural and underserved areas of the country.
