	We are excited to announce that World Wide Hearing has been awarded a grant for over $100,000 from <a href="http://www.grandchallenges.ca/stars-r3-grantee-announcement-en/">Grand Challenges Canada</a>. Grand Challenges Canada, funded by the Government of Canada, is dedicated to supporting "bold ideas with big impact" in global health. We look forward to using this funding to launch the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wwhearing.org/what-we-do">Hearing Express</a> project in Jordan.&nbsp;World Wide Hearing would especially like to thank Gunnar Grass and Daniella Polar for their help throughout the grant application process. 	World Wide Hearing and Engineers for a Sustainable World - Stanford are pleased to announce their collaboration on a sustainable development project in 2013. Students from the faculty of civil &amp; environmental engineering at Stanford University will work together with World Wide Hearing to create a new mobile platform for its <a href="http://www.wwhearing.org/what-we-do">Hearing Express</a> project to provide hearing aids to children &amp; youth in developing countries.</p>]]></description>

	World Wide Hearing is please to announce that <a href="{page_3}">Hearing Express</a>&mdash;our model for providing affordable hearing aids to children in developing countries&mdash;has been awarded <a href="http://www.mcgill.ca/desautels/research/centres/dces">first place</a> in the not-for-profit category of the Dobson Cup, a business plan competition organized by the Dobson centre for Entrepreneurial Studies at McGill University. Hearing Express was chosen for best demonstrating innovation, viability, and growth potential among all non-profit ideas presented.</p>
<p>
	The <a href="http://www.mcgill.ca/desautels/research/centres/dces/dobsoncup">Dobson Cup</a> is an annual opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their business ideas and not-for-profit startups. We wish to thank the organizations of the competition for their support, feedback, and recognition. The prize money will allow us to continue funding our hearing projects in developing countries.</p>]]></description>

	<strong>MILL NECK, NEW YORK </strong>- WWHearing holds its Annual General Meeting in Mill Neck, New York.&nbsp; This event is hosted by the Mill Neck Family of Organizations / Lutheran Friends of the Deaf, a major philanthropic organization providing services for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing as well as individuals with communication disorders and other disabilities in the New York area. It has nation-wide and world-wide outreach and has been involved with WWHearing since 2007. WWHearing members, hearing impairment experts, and special guests meet in this scenic coastal town in a series of highly productive meetings to discuss the development of the organization and the implementation of WWHearing&#39;s global strategic plan AUDIO 20/20 as well as its new service model, Hearing Express.</p>

      <title>WWHearing Foundations Established in Canada and the U.S.</title>

	<strong>QUEBEC, WASHINGTON D.C.</strong> - As part of the establishment of World Wide Hearing Canada, USA and International, WWHearing USA has received IRS charitable status.&nbsp; The Canada and International foundations are both in the process of obtaining their charitable status.&nbsp; As part of this process, WWHearing International has hired its first Executive Director, Ms Audra R&eacute;nyi.&nbsp; Audra brings experience from the private sector and the non-profit world. She holds a business &amp; finance degree from the Wharton School, as well as a degree in International Studies, both from the University of Pennsylvania. In the private sector, she has worked as an Investment Banker on Wall Street dealing with private equity firms. On the non-profit side, Audra has worked with Doctors Without Borders running the finances and H&amp;R for a refugee hospital in Chad, served as the CFO of a non-profit agricultural organization in Western Rwanda, acted as Business Consultant for a microfinance organization in Kenya, and more recently, as Director of Development/Fundraising at Canada World Youth, a leading volunteer exchange organization that has sent 34,000 young Canadian volunteers to over 60 developing countries.</p>

	<strong>LONDON</strong> - Claudio Bussandri, a successful Canadian businessman, joins the Executive Committee of WWHearing.&nbsp; With his extensive experience in humanitarian work in Canada, Claudio will be assisting in the effort to establish World Wide Hearing Foundations in Canada, their southern neighbor, the United States, and elsewhere.&nbsp; It should be noted that Claudio has a severe hearing impairment himself (as a result of an ear infection in infancy) and has been assisted since childhood in his education and business career by the use of hearing aids in both ears.</p>
